Valley Acres Doodles was established in 2020, and is located on a small acreage in the country side near Washington, Iowa. VAD is owned and operated by Matthew Pemberton. His love for animals runs deep in his blood, his background and interests are specific to all things animal related, and he holds an Animal Science Degree from Iowa State University. His intense knowledge of animal behavior, animal genetics, nutrition, and all things dog related make him your trusted partner in finding your next companion. We are licensed with the USDA and IDALS.
VAD specializes in raising high quality, phenotypically attractive puppies that come from genetic health tested and clear parentage. We raise F1 Mini Aussiedoodles and F1B Mini Goldendoodles. Our Females are rotated in and out of our home on a regular basis, giving all of our mothers plenty of TLC and one on one attention. Several of our mothers are also in guardian homes to ensure they live a happy life with lots of love and attention as well. When our mothers are not in our home they have 24/7 access to a heated and cooled area and a large yard to roam and play. Our puppies are raised in environment controlled building that caters to the puppies needs until they move in with their new families. The health and wellbeing of our dogs is our highest priority! If you were to stop in for a random visit you would be sure to find our dogs joining in on a fun day of swimming during a pool party, or tagging along during daily chores for our cattle operation. Our puppies gain a lot of experiences before going home with other dogs, cats, kids, and everything in between!
We Know adding a new pet to your family comes with a lot of questions, and we are here to help! We have many references willing to talk to you about their experience with us in the past. Our main goal is to stay open with communication and information provided to you as a new family to one of our beloved puppies. We want to ensure we get the right puppy in your hands depending on your needs and wants. Many of these decisions come down to your lifestyle - we LOVE getting to know you so we can provide you with the puppy that best fits into your lifestyle, family, and environment. Worried about being a first time pet owner? Don't Be! We have plenty of experience placing puppies into all types of families. As stated above, we are here to help every step of the way, and we stand by that!
Please contact us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Our puppies come from health tested parentage, so we don't forsee genetic problems to become apparent. However, we do offer a contract that spells out all of the guarantees for the buyer and the seller. This includes a limited health guarantee. This contract will be provided to you for review when you have decided to make a down payment to reserve a puppy.
You can reserve a puppy by filling out an online application or by contacting us directly through email, Facebook, or text/call. We will discuss your living situation, and what your desires may be in a puppy so we can work together to find the puppy that best fits your needs. Once we have completed this we will accept a $500 deposit that will go toward the final purchase price, with the remainder due at pick up time. We accept cash, checks, Venmoe or PayPal. Puppies will be picked out at 3 weeks of age and selected on a first come first serve basis in order deposits were received.
Great Question! Generations of crossing dog breeds can be confusing, Here's the basics specific to our program...
F1 Aussiedoodle = Mini Poodle dad X Mini Australian Shepherd mom (50% of both breeds)
F1B Mini Goldendoodle = F1 Mini Goldendoodle (50% Mini Poodle x 50% Golden Retriever) X Mini Poodle (75% mini poodle 25% Golden Retriever)
The answer is no! All though many breeders claim doodle crosses to be hypoallergenic it's simply not true. Allergy sufferers are generally allergic to pet dander - skin and hair follicles that become present in the environment due to shedding. Doodles can be a great option for those with allergies because of the poodle type hair coats that come through in the matings. Generally doodles will shed very little or none at all, and because of this dander from shedding is not present in your home and you are less likely to have allergy irritation.
This can be fairly challenging to estimate. We do our best to try to gauge estimated adult size in our puppies before they go home. When crossing different breeds and sizes, different genetics can pull through as dominant from either breed, and therefore size estimates can very from puppy to puppy and litter to litter. We do our best to give our best educated estimate, but sometimes genetics prove us wrong as our puppies age! Whatever size your pup matures to they will be full of love and great companions! :)
Our babies are adopted quickly, so reach out to reserve your furever friend or to ask any questions.
